when accents work

Alright now say it out loud with me: THE KOOPLES. Feel like you are saying the couples with a French accent? Well you are and that’s the point of the French brand name THE KOOPLES, created by the Elicha brothers, Alexandre, Laurent & Raphael in September 2008. Their black and white boutiques are taking over Paris, the rest of the country and my closet!!

The brand concept is based on young couples whose fashion sense is a throwback to 60s and 80s British rock meshed with Parisian vintage chic, because I mean c’mon you can’t have a brand from Paris and not have it be chic! These indie couples also like to swap each others clothes too (FYI French couples actually shop together, and enjoy it too!), as a result this brand has created an androgynous collection that ‘resist the passage of time and remain elegant for all of eternity’. So you won’t be another victim of fads or trends as The Kooples are here to stay! They want to fill your closet with good quality staple garments that are not only interchangeable but have EPIC tailoring too! They work with a tailoring company in London which makes the clothes feel like they were custom made for you. I should know, I bought my first blouse from them and for the first time I didn’t feel like I was swimming in my shirt, the shoulders were perfectly narrow and fit like a glove.

Take a look at their AD campaign, they take real life couples who have creative jobs and edgy looks who personify the brand, but don’t worry you need have a ball and chain to wear the clothes, singles are welcomed.

ed banger x etnies = ednies

Well, it appears as if I get first crack at this on the new blog! Myself (Kid Lightning) and the Good Luck Cat himself decided to take a little field trip over to Union in Los Angeles to help the Ed Banger crew celebrate their new shoe collab with Etnies in style. We were able to snag Busy P, So-Me, and Pierre-Andre (the owner of Etnies) for a casual little sitdown to discuss the shoe and a few upcoming projects. For the record, this sitdown was then followed by a raging party with free Red Stripe and tacos! It was just that kind of a night (some additional party footage courtesy of our buddy Glenjamn). Enjoy!
